[Parasakthi] desam gnanam kalvi eesan poosai ellaam…

Apparently parts of the song was penned by a siddhar names kudhambai, who had the habit of adding kubhambaai in every verse he wrote so please interpret it as being addressed to people around, on similar terms “thaandavakkone”, in its true meaning refers to a king who dances (lord Nataraja), here it can be interpreted as addressing people in general. The original verses (of a siddhar) was some thing like “aariya koothaadinaalum thaandavakkone, kaariyathil kannnada thaandavakkone” which meant that although lord Nataraja is seemingly dancing, he is doing it for a purpose (ozhikuthu to end a yuga) which is clear to him.

The song talks about how money has blinded our lives, our values our relations etc… wonderful song… apparently Sivaji and karunanidhi’s first movie. Have fun with the song.

தேசம் ஞானம் கல்வி ஈசன் பூசையெல்லாம்

the people who have bags and bags of gold (riches),
even if they keep on lying,

it shall be perceived as truth,

I do not think the lyricist is Bharathidasan. If my memory serves me right, it was Mu Ka.

Dear earunan,
Thanks for the correction. You are right that it is not Bharathidasan. However, it seems to not be Mu Ka either. Resources in the web suggest that it was Udumalai Narayana Kavi and hence I have changed it to reflect that. Please let me know if you think it is still not right.
Thanks

Thanks for the prompt action. Could you give me some references for authentic information? One of my friend also said it was Udumalai Narayana Kavi. I will point out the correction you have made in my blog. http://earunan.org/2015/04/02/learning-history/
